I was in Homegoods the other day (my absolute favorite store to find home decor steals) and these canary yellow place mats totally caught my eye. At $7.99 for a set of 4, they were a great deal. I took them home and intended to hang them on the wall for some graphic interest, but then realized that they might work perfectly on our dining room table. Our dining room is still a major work in progress – we need a credenza and maybe some side chairs in there for some interest…but the 4 place mats set together in a row really helped to add a bold pop of color and pattern.

a few other views of our in progress dining area:

This tray, sitting in the window in our dining room, used to be an ugly black. I love spray paint! And isn’t this fan succulent the coolest?

Love the yellow tray! And I almost bought those place mats in green!
Too funny Jill – we have similar taste! Love those placemats, so versatile!
Your house is amazing! Wow. I love the stairs, wallpaper, table, table runner…and I have that IKEA pot, too!
Thank you Kelsey!
Also by the way your blog is so cute – love the design! Just added it to my reader!
I love the pops of yellow in your dining room!
Yellow is my obsession color of the year
I covet your dining table – where did you get it?
Hi Malita, thank you! It is from a store called Four Hands Home about 5 years back. I don’t know if there is one in or near your area but if so you should check it out, they have some really great furniture!
Hey Heather,
I’m actually an austinite as well – and I know Four Hands very well – I should have guessed it was one of theirs as I love them – I was thinking maybe it was CB2
Thank you for responding – i was hoping you would – I’ll check it out and see if they have anything similar at least.
Loving the blog – about to close on my house in Sept – it’s very cutsey country at the moment (blech) – so always good to get some great remodel inspiration!
Oh, I didn’t realize you were local! Awesome!
I haven’t seen a table like it in a while at Four Hands but they always do have some nice tables.
Thanks for reading! Good luck on your own remodeling plans, how exciting!
