I wanted to share a bunch photos from the fun family vacation we took to Palm Springs and San Diego in February! Our daughter Zoey is 2 1/2 and finally old enough to really have fun going places and doing things with us, so we decided to take a family vacation (and one where I wasn’t photographing a wedding during the trip, which is usually the case). We decided on Palm Springs because Mike and I have always wanted to go there (and of course we have a mild obsession with mid century architecture and Palm Springs is a mecca for that!) and San Diego was another place that we always wanted to go (and we knew Z would have fun there with Legoland and the zoo)! So, without further ado here are some of my favorite photos from the trip!
we stayed at the ace hotel, because we are hip like that. not!
we had a little dance party in our room!
morning view from our hotel room
more detail pics of our suite!
palm springs visitors center, amazing architecture.
we took the tram to the top of the mountain in palm springs. whew that’s high!
cool architecture at the top of the mountain
and of course it wouldn’t be a trip to palm springs without a little (or in our case a LOT) of architecture/house gawking! we spent all afternoon one day just driving around looking at houses, the amazing architecture is everywhere there!
I would have paid cash money to see this house inside!
so many of these reminded me of our original brady bunch remodel! really made me miss it!
I loved the architecture of this house!
and this one too! it’s sort of hawaaian mid century?
even the parking lots are pretty in palm springs, sigh.
i want orange trees in my backyard
the salton sea. if you haven’t heard of it, google it. it’s kind of amazing an a deserted, eerie kind of way. has a fascinating history!
we stayed at another cool mid century hotel, the pearl!
